The Department of Public Health Dentistry at SSCDS works towards the betterment of community oral health in the rural district of Vikarabad, Tandur and surrounding districts. The department conducts oral health programs at various levels to address felt needs of the population. They include screening camps, awareness campaigns, treatment drives, school health programs and adopted schools and villages in the vicinity.  Satellite centers with functional infrastructure have been established to expand accessibility of dental care. The department maintains a mobile dental clinic equipped with two fully functional treatment units and a public announcement system to provide essential  treatment in remote areas as well as disseminating important oral health information . We also run a tobacco counseling centre to address the widely prevalent tobacco consumption habit in the local community.
